2025 Winter Symposia Series: Science and Civic Responsibilities

Connecting Civics with Science

A2Ethics is honored to announce the 2025 Winter Symposia Series:
Science and Civic Responsibilities

Date: Monday, February 24, 2025
Time: 7:00pm-8:00pm EST

This just-at-the-right-moment three part series focuses our attention on an ongoing and persistent ethical issue faced by all democracies: Public Trust and Distrust of Science.

Designed by Eduardo J. Martinez, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati, we will begin with a discussion about why some individuals and groups in our communities reject scientific findings and mistrust science institutions. And why their neighbors consider scientific knowledge and practice trustworthy and its institutions as a common good.
